Job Summary – HR Officer (Employee Relations & Payroll Support Focus)

The HR Officer will support the HR Responsible in delivering efficient HR services across the organization, with a primary focus on employee relations and salary advance management. The role ensures a positive workplace environment by addressing employee concerns, maintaining transparent communication, and resolving day-to-day HR issues.

In addition, the HR Officer will be responsible for handling requests related to salary advances, ensuring compliance with company policies, accurate documentation, and coordination with payroll. Beyond these areas, the HR Officer will contribute to a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment support, onboarding, performance management, and HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations (Primary Focus):

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, complaints, and workplace issues.

  • Support conflict resolution processes and escalate complex cases to HR Responsible.

  • Foster positive employee engagement through regular communication and feedback channels.

  • Ensure fair application of HR policies and disciplinary procedures.

  • Maintain confidentiality and build trust with staff at all levels.

Salary Advance & Payroll Support (Primary Focus):

  • Process and monitor staff requests for salary advances according to company policy.

  • Coordinate with Finance/Payroll teams to ensure accuracy in payments and deductions.

  • Maintain clear records of advances and repayment schedules.

  • Provide staff with guidance on payroll queries and related HR matters.

General HR Support (Secondary):

  • Assist in recruitment, interviews, and onboarding processes.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.

  • Support the performance management cycle (appraisals, evaluations, documentation).

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company regulations.

  • Contribute to HR projects, staff communications, and training initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of HR experience with strong focus on employee relations.

  • Familiarity with payroll and staff advances management is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR procedures.

  • Fluent in English
