Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Consultant to support and advise client companies on improving and restructuring their sales departments. This role involves evaluating current sales processes, identifying performance gaps, analyzing market trends, and recommending practical solutions to optimize the overall sales function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Process Analysis & Optimization
- Conduct a full workflow survey of the sales process, from lead generation to order fulfillment, including:
- Who handles client communication
- When and how the accountant receives information
- Delivery responsibilities and timelines
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the sales cycle and propose improvements or redesigns.
- Evaluate how orders are processed, documented, and reported.
2. Sales Department Structure & Team Assessment
- Analyze the organizational structure of the sales department.
- Assess reporting lines, team roles, inventory management skills, and internal communication.
- Identify gaps, weaknesses, or overlaps in responsibilities.
- Recommend structural adjustments or new processes to enhance performance and productivity.
3. Market & Product Analysis
- Analyze the client’s:
- Target market and customer profiles
- Geographical market coverage
- Pricing strategy (cost-based, value-based, or other)
- Competitive positioning
- Sales performance data over past years
- Product profitability and sales trends
- Evaluate inventory stock levels, overstocking risks, and warehouse capacity.
- Provide insights and visuals on sales data using tools like Excel or dashboards.
4. Strategic Sales Planning
- Set realistic and data-driven sales targets.
- Design a commission structure and sales objectives aligned with business goals.
- Coordinate with the finance department to align on credit sales processes.
- Develop and recommend CRM system usage if not already in place.
5. Team Development & Training
- Conduct training sessions to educate sales teams on techniques, tools, and product knowledge.
- Improve the team’s communication and client-handling skills.
- Instill best practices in sales processes, forecasting, and customer relationship management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Sales Consulting, Sales Management, or related roles
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High emotional intelligence and communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients
- Flexible and dynamic personality, able to adapt to market changes
- Experience in sales data analysis, reporting, and visualization (Excel, dashboards, etc.)
- Familiarity with CRM systems (preferred but not mandatory)
- Background in market research or strategic planning
- Understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales & Marketing, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
